Cajun Sauce

One of my favorite restaurants is Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli. On many of their sandwiches they use what they call a “Cajun Sauce.” This sauce is sort of like a mix between mayonnaise and hot sauce. One of the employee’s was nice enough to give me the recipe and I have scaled it down to a more normal sized recipe for home use.

1 cup Mayonnaise
1 oz. Honey
¾ oz. Cayenne Pepper

Mix together and chill to blend flavors.

  1. Thanks for the tip.

I am not close to any of the Heidi's locations. My wife has re-entered the corporate world and works near the 17th and Lawrence location. Tonight she wanted to make me her version of their sandwich that uses that sauce. I made it as you recommended using Japanese Kewpie mayo and she said it was very close.

    1. Hello! I made a fermented garlic honey to keep on hand for dinner parties and charcuterie. I decided to use this honey for this sauce with kewpie mayo and blackened seasoning. All I can say is I was hesitant but my picky boyfriend loved it.
